AAPPAC 2018 Conference

Oct 2018

In September, Beatrice Pembroke (GCDN) chaired a panel on the responsibilities of anchor organisations with GCDN members Kingsley Jaysekera (WKCD), Claire Spencer (Arts Centre Melbourne) and Hahna Busch (Left Bank Co) at the 2018 Association of Asia-Pacific Performing Arts Centres Conference (AAPPAC) hosted by Auckland Live.

Following a traditional Maori welcome, Douglas Gautier, Chairman of the AAPPAC and CEO of Adelaide Festival Centre set out a vision for 21st Century Performing Arts Centre and the importance of placemaking through precincts and districts. With visits to the surrounding district, Robbie Macrae, Director of Auckland Live, also gave an update on major works starting next month.

The AAPPAC provides a vital forum for major arts centres to meet across this diverse and dynamic region and exchange ideas and factors for success. It is also an important strategic partner of GCDN and we look forward to more collaborations.
