Manhattan’s High Line has, since it opened in 2009, become a magnet for tourists and locals alike – a new, compelling linear urban park created from a disused elevated railway. This case study examines its successes; the programming, fundraising and management strategies that have led to that success; and some of the challenges that success brings in its wake.
