The Cultural and Education District in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is currently being developed over two sites as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The spaces are situated around the iconic London Stadium, ArcelorMittal Orbit, and the London Aquatic Centre of 2012 Olympics fame. Both sites will be home to familiar, yet new landmark cultural institutions for London.
Site one, UCL East, will be home to a new campus for University College London. The new campus takes a visionary approach to the role of a modern college campus, embedding world-class research facilities and classes into the community and local landscape. The campus is being designed by LDA Design and will be open for the 2019/20 academic year. In total, the new campus will cover 125,000m2 of space, developed over a number of phases.
The second site, Stratford Waterfront, features a new campus for London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, along with new spaces for the Victoria and Albert Museum and Sadler’s Wells.
