At WXY, design is more than what we do; it’s how we think. We bring a design lens to every challenge, whether it’s shaping policy, planning communities, or creating architecture that responds to people and place. Every project is exploration, not repetition. We start by asking questions, uncovering deeper problems, and designing unpredictable solutions.
Claire Weisz, FAIA, and Mark Yoes, FAIA, founded WXY in 1998. Partners Layng Pew, AIA, and Adam Lubinsky, PhD, AICP, joined them in 2006 and 2011, respectively.
WXY is a certified Women Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) in many states and cities around the United States. Our staff are certified in LEED, WELL-healthy buildings, and WEDG waterfront design.
At WXY, we believe design begins with listening. We work across scales and disciplines—architecture, planning, policy, urban design, graphic design, and strategy—because separation doesn’t lead to stronger results. A shared mindset or curiosity drives our work. What we design, in the broadest sense, are relationships. This is our approach. Open, grounded in context, and guided by the belief that design helps us see the possibilities of working together.
WXY joins GCDN to collaborate with global leaders advancing inclusive, resilient, and culturally rooted urban development. We contribute design expertise that strengthens public space, supports regenerative practice, and centers community voice in shaping cities. Through shared research and exchange, we help drive equitable growth and long-term civic impact across diverse urban contexts.
